Hudson, NY – July 29, 2024 – The Greenport Rescue Squad, Inc. is proud to announce that its Board of Directors has unanimously voted to join three of the most influential organizations in the emergency medical services (EMS) industry: the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), the American Ambulance Association (AAA), and the New York State Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association (NYSVARA).
This strategic move comes in response to the growing challenges facing EMS agencies nationwide, including stagnant reimbursements, rising operational costs, staffing shortages, and an increasing demand for emergency medical services.
Aidan O'Connor, Executive Director of Greenport Rescue Squad, Inc., emphasized the importance of these memberships in addressing industry-wide issues. "While we are not in crisis like many within our industry, our organization certainly is feeling the pain of many of the contributing factors," O'Connor said. "Our Board of Directors accepting organizational memberships with our industry's largest associations will give us a voice at the federal and state levels, helping us to be part of the solution to help drive positive changes for our patients, EMS providers, and the communities we serve."
